Buddy, we’re worried about you. At first this whole tumblr thing just seemed like a new blogging community. But the more you post about tumblr meet ups and other sort of gathering, I’m worried it’s more like a cult. Every other post has something to say about tumblr, and I never see any dissent in the ranks. And it seems like the deeper in you get, the worse it is.
El Tigre, you have a family that loves you and needs you. You have friends, non-tumblr friends, that care about you. And then there’s me, who thinks you’re alright and wouldn’t beat you with a stick. But that’s neither here nor there. I mean, I like you and all, and I’m no good at beating people so that’s kind of a throw-away comment. Anyways, the point I’m trying to drive home is there are people who care about you, some of which are your friends and family. And none of these people will beat you up. Can you say the same about the tumblr cult if you try leaving? Can you? Really?
Please, El Tigre, don’t let this hipster interweb cult suck you in. This gunny sack and that non-descript white van are for your own good. Let’s not make this any harder than it already is.

1) what over-hyped, under-informed blog brought on this sudden FUD, my friend?
2) dissent – if only you could read my dashboard, worst seo. there’s lots of drama on the inside, mostly revolving around how people use tumblr. this week’s histrionics focus on the length of a post. some people don’t like long tumblr posts because it clogs up the dashboard and it’s not necessarily the original intent of the platform (more scrapbook than diary).
i for one, agree with marco, that you ought to post whatever you want without fear of upsetting the elitist “tumblrati”. who are they to tell me what i can/cannot post? that’s called fascist censorship and drives against the very community-valued structure which tumblr enables. further, what use is an application/platform if i can’t use it the way i want to use it, right? if someone’s content sucks, stop following them. if you’re afraid that once you drop them, they’ll drop you, hurting your pretty little follower count, get a new hobby.
3) thanks for not beating me with a stick, throw-away comment or not.

El Tigre doesn’t get it. SEOHack is right.
However, I don’t think we dislike tumblr for the same reasons. My reasons?
1 – improper spelling of tumbler
2 – stupid
3 – plagiarism & duplicate content when not plagiarized
4 – cheese

Sociological definition of a cult:
()People are put in physically or emotionally distressing situations;
()Their problems are reduced to one simple explanation, which is repeatedly emphasized;
()They receive unconditional love, acceptance, and attention from the leader;
()They get a new identity based on the group;
()They are subject to entrapment and their access to information is severely controlled.
